Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced the arrest of Lechelsea Jenkins (B/F, 23, 408 John Edwards Lan in Thibodaux, LA) for Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Aggravated Assault, Domestic Abuse Battery, and two (2) counts of Simple Criminal Damage to Property.
On Monday, May 29th, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Lechelsea Jenkins went to an apartment in the 600 Block of Government Circle where her ex-girlfriend was hanging out with her male coworker. After knocking on the door, Jenkins forced her way passed the male victim and began attacking the female victim.
The male victim was able to separate the two and had the female victim go to the back bedroom and told Jenkins to leave. Jenkins ignored the male victim and followed the female victim to the bedroom, knocking down a television and punching a hole in the bedroom door in the process. Jenkins began physically attacking the female victim again, only this time she pulled a hacksaw blade and attempted to use it on the female victim. The male victim was able to stop Jenkins from using the blade on the female victim, but suffered injuries to his hand and forearm in the process.
The female victim was able to make it outside to her vehicle, where Jenkins ripped off the trunk spoiler and tried to cut the tires. Jenkins left the scene before Police arrived.
While Shift “C” Officers were speaking with the victims, Jenkins arrived back on the scene. She was quickly taken into custody, and is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $41,000 bond.
