Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced the arrest of Chad Anthony Ayzinne (W/M, 26, Listed As Homeless) for Simple Battery, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and two 17th JDC Warrants for Contempt of Court for Drug and Traffic Offenses. He is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $30,500 bond.

AYZINNE, CHAD ANTHONY

On Tuesday, June 13th, at approximately 8:11 a.m., Chad Ayzinne and the victim went to a business in the 400 Block of North Canal Boulevard. The victim allowed Ayzinne to stay in her green 2005 GMC Envoy as she went inside the business because he was asleep in the passenger seat. When she returned, Ayzinne apparently had moved to the driver’s seat and fell asleep again. The victim decided to allow Ayzinne to sleep a little longer before attempting to wake him.

As the victim attempted to wake Ayzinne, he became angry and threw an object at the victim, hitting her in the chest. He then slammed the door on her hand and drove off in the victim’s vehicle without permission.

Police were called and began actively searching for the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle was eventually found abandoned in the parking lot of another business in the 500 Block of Jackson Street. Ayzinne was then found walking on East 7th Street. He was taken into custody and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.
